Wezddy Del Toro Orozco, a PhD student in the Integrative Conservation (ICON) Program and the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources, has been awarded the Beverly Hirsh Frank Graduate Fellowship by the Graduate School at the University of Georgia. This prestigious fellowship supports innovative research in the life and physical sciences, with an emphasis on interdisciplinary fields. Wezddy’s research takes a socio-ecological integrative approach to addressing human-jaguar conflicts and promoting coexistence in the Brazilian Amazon, perfectly aligning with the interdisciplinary mission of the ICON program.
