Amit Kaushik, PhD Student in Integrative Conservation and Anthropology is the recent recipient of the National Geographic Award for his PhD research in Central India!
This project investigates the spatial utilization of Indian wolves (Canis lupus pallipes) and their interactions with humans in and around a tiger reserve in Central India. It focuses on how non-protected areas and community-based conservation efforts can significantly contribute to the conservation of lesser-known species like the Indian wolf, both within the Indian context and beyond.
